An Autumn Walk

autumn fall berries

On Sunday we joined our regular "stick walk" organised by my Team Parish - so called because the children and dogs collect ever-longer sticks as we walk!

cartwheels on autumn fall walkThere were lots of autumn colours, berries and crunchy leaves. The children ran and cartwheeled with endless energy. I however was more than ready for a sit-down and a cup of tea by the time we finished the hour-long walk in countryside around our village which includes Ashridge Forest. (National Trust-run)

child with stickThe day finished with a short VERY informal service back at church then a bring and share tea which as always was very cake-based! It's so nice to spend the afternoon with friends outdoors - we are going to try and carry them on through the winter on a monthly basis so hopefully I'll get some nice icy and snowy shots too!
