As regular readers will know, my mum lives in Cyprus and I absolutely love the island.
This picture of me was taken on the beach next to Petra Tou Romiou, otherwise known as Aphrodites Rock on our 21st wedding anniversary this year.
The rock supposedly marks the birthplace of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite (also known as Venus), and legend has it if you swim round the rock you are blessed with eternal beauty and fertility.
We thought since it was our anniversary we couldn't miss the chance to visit the rock which is only a short drive from my mum's village and so stopped off for a walk on the beach on the way to lunch in Limmasol.
We were amazed to see people had covered the shingle with stone hearts and showing his soppy side DH decided to make a special heart of stone for us - all together now, Ahhh!
I love the picture so much, and the colours of the stones and the sand that I used this picture as the basis for my blog badge. Which anyone is welcome to grab and stick on their blog if they like my ramblings of course - the code is on my sidebar!
