Why You Should Install a Home Sauna

Many years ago I had my first sauna experience. I have written previously about my trip to BadeLand, Wolfsburg which my German friend failed to inform me was a naked spa until we were in the changing rooms. Thanks Claudia. Actually it was a liberating experience and I even went back voluntarily the next time we visited my lovely friend.

The thing is, saunas are wonderful with fans claiming multiple health benefits as well as the most obvious relaxation properties.

Until I visited BadeLand I didn't realise how many different types of sauna exist ranging from humid to dry. Some were dark, one had an amazing stress-busting light and music show and one had floor to ceiling windows with a view of the snow covered park outside.  Of course there were the saunas we think of with aromatic wooden panels, hot stones and a water dipper along with a freezing plunge pool outside.

My friend recently installed her own traditional style wooden sauna room into her large garden room/studio although she only has a fish pond  - I don't think her aquatic collection would thank her if she jumped into that after a session.

Outdoor saunas are great but did you know for ultimate privacy and convenience you can have saunas installed in the house, taking up not much more room than a decent sized shower cubicle? For the ultimate spa at home experience you could relax tense muscles in an energy efficient Insignia Infrared Sauna listening to music or an audio book and enjoying the light show, meditating or chatting with friends.

Insignia Infrared Sauna

Insignia Infrared saunas feature a state-of-the-art carbon fiber and ceramic infrared heaters, which emit safe and gentle infrared heat waves that penetrate deep into your body, promoting detoxification, pain relief, and improved circulation along with other sauna related health benefits.

Imagine coming home from a hard day at work or a long day looking after small children and letting all your stress evaporate as you kick back in the warmth of your very own sauna. No wondering who else has sat on your sauna seats and no need for a towel if you fancy the German-style experience.

As your tensions dissolve you can look forward to better sleep and a boosted immune system. Those (like me) who suffer with chronic pain or sporty types who are prone to muscle aches, pains and sprains could benefit from the warming rays. I wondered why I felt so calm and happy after my saunas - apparently sauna bathing can release endorphins AND potentially contribute to skin health and weight loss too!

I very much like the idea of lounging around as a way of keeping healthy!
