Your outdoor space should be an oasis. Stepping only a short distance from your door to a beautiful area where you can soak in the sun’s warm rays and breathe in fresh air is an ideal. The only problem is that what you see is perhaps not what you want. As luck would have it, you can change it with these helpful suggestions.

Update the Landscaping
The first thing you need to do is assess your landscaping situation. If the garden has seen better days, start here. Remove any trees that are dead or damaged beyond saving. Use a professional landscaping company to ensure safe removal of trees so that the surrounding landscapes or homes are not damaged.
From there, arrange new borders around your home and patio and along the fence line, if you have one. Select plants that are hardy for your climate and zone. Look for plants that will provide visual interest year-round, such as ones that will bloom in succession or show off their beautiful red branches when the leaves have fallen.
Add Functional Seating
Your outdoors should not only be seen from inside your home, but you should also enjoy it while surrounded by its beauty. Add seating all around your garden so you can sit and relax whenever you would like to.
Tuck away a small cafe set near your front entrance to observe the street and easily chat with your neighbours. Set up a comfortable settee or couch on the patio to relax on sunny days or catch up with our best friend over a cuppa. And be sure to incorporate a dining table and chairs, too, so you can host brunch and dinner parties al fresco.
Incorporate Lighting
Good lighting can set the mood for whatever event you are hosting. It can also make reading a book under the stars a realistic option. Install lighting around the perimeter of the garden, along the fenceline, and to highlight garden beds. Also add lights above the dining table and seating areas.

Install a Walkway
A stone paver or gravel walkway is a lovely way to guide you or your guests throughout the garden. A walkway keeps people on the path while preserving the area around it from damage due to frequent traffic. It also delineates a space and adds more visual interest.
Consider installing a walkway from a side door to the garden, along the side of a house where it is difficult to grow plants, or from an outdoor office to your back door. Place one wherever you want a little extra charm. Install in-ground lights to keep the path illuminated and for a nice effect.

Now all you need is a cosy blanket and a good book, or a bunch of friends and delicious food to make it even better.
