I'm a little star-struck. The story of a selfie with LLB

I am rubbish at spotting celebrities - generally I am the person wildly searching the space around me when someone points out the famous person in the vicinity.  I usually see them, or the back of their head, as they are walking away.

There are often television personalities at blogger events - luckily I have a couple of blogger friends who are much better then me at spotting and identifying people, especially if they are newer celebs and have been on Towie or Strictly or whatever. I don't watch much TV - unless you count Pokemon.

But walking into the press office at Earls Court for the first day of the Ideal Home Show at Christmas even I could instantly identify the very lovely Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen with his famous flowing locks and characterful outfit! I have enjoyed TV programmes with him as presenter for many years although I wasn't sure about his themed bathroom at the Ideal Home Show.

I love the colours, adore the armchair and even quite like the tree with the fake owl and fairy lights but think in my house with so many males, the pure white snow round the base of the tree would soon have some yellow trails in it!

Anyway - back to the story behind the picture. I dithered for a while but couldn't resist asking him to pose for a selfie (or an Elfie as he insisted I call it because of all the festive fun going on around us) after he had cut the ribbon to declare the show open.

He was very gracious - I was a blithering, babbling wreck (can you tell from my barmy smile?) and now I am an even bigger fan!

I also saw a few other celebrities at the show including chef Gino D'Acampo who is even more gorgeous in the flesh than on the cover of his recipe books or on TV. And his voice made me melt inside just a little bit. Especially when he was speaking Italian on his mobile. Be still my beating heart.

I couldn't quite pluck up the courage to ask for a picture with him when he was in the foyer and think it's bad form to ask when they are relaxing in the press office and green room.

Celebs aside I had a fab day at the show and now can't wait to start decorating my house ready for Christmas!
