Family Gaming Fun with Frantics on PS4 from Playstation PlayLink.

I love to hear my children giggling together. The other day I popped my head round the door to discover what was so hilarious and found them laughing helplessly while playing Frantics, the hilarious mini-game from the Playstation PS4 PlayLink range. It looked so much fun I joined them!

Frantics consists of 15 whacky mini-games for up to four players, where you’re competing in everything from frenetic action arena brawls to strategic turn based competitions.

Exclusive to PS4, this PlayLink game challenges you to win more ‘crowns’ than the other players. Put your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controllers to the side – here you can simply use your smart device to swipe, tilt, shake, flick and snap your way to victory. Anyone can do it!

You can mix and match devices too - in our house we have a selection of Android and iOS gadgets and they can all connect and play together after downloading the Frantics app.
But beware… the scheming and manipulative Fox is on hand to stir up the pot. Using bribery and relaying secret messages and missions to each player via your mobile device, you’re encouraged to sabotage and backstab your rivals at every turn.

My children thought it was hilarious receiving messages from the Fox and with this crafty vulpine’s tomfoolery changing the way you play at any time, players need to have their wits about them to triumph.
Over the weekend my children aged 9-18 were all playing nicely together which as anyone with children knows is a minor miracle.

My 11 year old daughter told me Frantics is so much fun, quite frustrating but very funny. She's very competitive  so the frustrating bit was probably because she didn't win every time!

There's a lot of variety in the mini-games which means it gives all players a chance of winning as each game requires different skills - racing, balancing, jousting and much more.

It also means players are less likely to get bored. Mine switched between challenges having a lovely time  and cheering each other on.

Anyone who thinks video gaming is solitary, all about killing and is the road to death for the art of conversation and socialisation would only need to watch (and hear) my bunch playing Frantics for five minutes to know that this is not necessarily the case.

Frantics is a great activity for the whole family from the age of 3 up (It has an official Pegi rating for 3+)

Even this old girl with zero gaming skills had fun trying to balance on a slippy virtual disc of ice, shrieking along with the children when I fell off!

Check out the YouTube video below for a taste of the gameplay action. Like the sound of it? You can download Frantics for £15.99 from the Playstation website.
