Make it a Searcys Summer with these Unique Events

Since 1847 Searcys has been synonymous with top quality catering whether it's at one of their cafes or restaurants or at one of the many events they cater for. This summer you can indulge your own love of fantastic food and drink at a number of extra special events at The Gherkin  and St Pancras, both iconic London landmarks.

The Glasshouse at Iris Bar

This summer, Searcys at The Gherkin will be transformed into a luscious botanical glasshouse, created in partnership with Perrier-Jouët Champagne. 

The Glasshouse at the Gherkin will bring a summer botanical experience to the top of one of London’s iconic skyscrapers, between 78-9pmfrom 15 July to 1 September. 

Bringing nature to life in the heart of the City, the entire Iris Bar on level 40 will become an oasis of greenery, the perfect summer bar in which to watch the sun set over the Thames.   

Guests can enjoy Champagne pairings by Perrier-Jouët, a botanical gin cocktail menu, a seasonal menu celebrating the best of British produce, exclusive private dining experiences and live entertainment – all while enjoying panoramic views from one of London’s most iconic skyscrapers.


Upon entering the Iris Bar, guests will be invited to enjoy a stunning Champagne garden in the main bar, all surrounded by a haven of exotic flowers and plants, creating the illusion of a conservatory.

A selection of Perrier-Jouët vintages will be available all summer and guests can take part in a Champagne Masterclass, where parties of all sizes can indulge in a tasting flight of three different cuvées. 

Iris Bar mixologists have designed a special menu of botanical gin-based cocktails, created with natural ingredients. These include the iconic Gherkin Spritz– Beefeater gin, Perrier-Jouët Champagne, pickled gherkin juice and elderflower essence – and London Fields– a refreshing mix of Plymouth sloe gin, cox apples, fresh fruits, lemonade and lavender extract. 

Also available at the bar, The Glasshouse Gin & Tonic trio (£17) will entice guests to experiment with garnishes and tonics that have been expertly curated by Searcys’ mixologists. 

A special summery menu created by Searcys’ Shaun Rowlands will also be on offer, showcasing the flavour and versatility of British seasonal produce. The botanical theme will run through the Helix Restaurant this summer, for those wishing to stay for an indulgent dinner experience.

A botanical private dining experience


Searcys and Perrier-Jouët have transformed one of the Gherkin’s five stunning private dining rooms, on level 38 into a pocket version of the Glasshouse. 

The Table of Wonder, a unique installation featured in the centre of the room will showcase a selection of plants and flowers inspired on the tastings notes of different Perrier-Jouët cuveés.

Guests can marvel at the views and the greenery, all whilst enjoying champagne paired with Searcys’ seasonal English fare. 

The experience can be explored by parties of all sizes, celebrating every occasion – from a leisure brunch to lavish dinner parties.  

An exclusive line up of events showcasing Perrier-Jouët prestige cuvées and hosted by their brand ambassador will take over the Gherkin private rooms, 6-days a week during the summer.

The Art of Travel by Searcys 

St Pancras by Searcys summer pop-up this year takes inspiration from The Art of Travel, transforming Europe’s longest Champagne Bar into London’s most stylish pre-holiday destination between 7am to 11pm from 15 July to 9 September. 

Guests are invited to sit back and soak up the Victorian charm of St Pancras station as they enjoy a glass of Champagne, a brand new The Art of Travel Afternoon Tea, and menus that pay homage to no less than twelve much-loved European cities and holiday spots. 

The Art of Travel by Searcys in partnership with Veuve Clicquot, Globe-Trotter and Sipsmith Gin will transform the world-renowned Champagne Bar and take guests on a European travel journey, without leaving the station.   


The Art of Travel Afternoon Tea

A travel-inspired Afternoon Tea menu will kick off the summer celebrations at St Pancras by Searcys. 

Available from 3 June and throughout the summer, the menu plays on delicacies from a handful of European cities – all served in a stylish travel suitcase. 

With the Eurostar just a scones throw away, St Pancras’ brand-new afternoon tea menu gives a taste of travels to come, delighting guests with the classic French Opera gâteauBelgian white chocolate moussepassion fruit Swiss meringue pie and more. 

In true Searcys style, the afternoon tea menu also includes Burford Brown’s egg mayonnaise bun, smoked salmon warm crumpet, York ham and wholegrain mustarddelicious homemade scones and an avocado and quinoa wrap.

The Art of Travel pop-up

 Opening on 15 July, The Art of Travel pop-up marks the second stage of summer celebrations at St Pancras, with each of the twelve private booths in the Champagne Bar being transformed into a different European city destination. 

Ranging from Eurostar destinations like Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam to further flung European favourites like San Remo, Porto and Reims, each city will bring a little essence of its culture to the Champagne Bar at St Pancras by Searcys. 

Each booth will be decorated in pastel colours displaying their correspondent city map, with signs to each destination presented in a tasteful and pared back style. 

Guests are invited sit at one of the twelve booths and push the famous “Press for Champagne” button for an exclusive experience in Champagne tasting.  

St Pancras Champagne Bar by Searcys was the first bar in London to introduce this fun feature, back in 2007.  

For the Art of Travel pop up, Champagne partners Veuve Clicquot have selected their Yellow Label, Rosé, Extra Brut Extra Old and Rich Rosé cuvées. 

Hailing from the famed town of Reims, home of the Champagne house and one of The Art of Travel “towns”, the brand is credited with creating the first modern Rosé Champagne. 

Their bright and distinctive yellow label makes Veuve Clicquot the perfect summer Champagne. Searcys extensive list of Champagne and sparkling wines will also be on offer during the summer. 

Meanwhile, English suitcase company Globe-Trotter will partner with Searcys to create an atmosphere of timeless sophistication and style.

Established in 1897 and synonymous with great British design, Globe-Trotter is reputed for its iconic yet practical luggage, which draws on the romance of train travel across Europe for inspiration. 

A stunning display of Globe-Trotter’s brand-new Riviera collection will set the scene, while guests can also enjoy a cocktail list showcasing Sipsmith Gin

The first copper distillery to be set up in London since 1820, Sipsmith have an unwavering passion for small-batch, hand-crafted gin made the way it should be. 

Drinks Ambassador Joel Claustre has carefully created a cocktail and Champagne list. Presented in a beautiful passport shape cover, the menu includes a selection of Veuve Clicquot Champagnes available by the glass and bottle. 

Four bespoke Gin-based cocktails have been created in collaboration with Sipsmith, which includes a very special Champagne and gin cocktail titled “Take on the French 75”. 

This marries Veuve Clicquot and Sipsmith for the ultimate cocktail experience, a delectable mix of orange, cocoa, bitters, Sipsmith gin and Veuve Clicquot Champagne.
