Auction Site Madness AKA "Read The Flipping Item Details!"

The sun has gone for now it seems so I decided to turn my attention to my house which is starting to resemble one of those hoarder homes you see on the TV. A friend suggested I sell some stuff on one of those famous online auction sites- declutter and earn at the same time.

It prompted me to talk to my husband about his beloved vehicle which even after TLC and a fistful of bills from parts suppliers and mechanics still refuses to fulfil its destiny, ie move with people in it. Or move at all.

I don't trust it to not breathe its last loaded with the family on a motorway and I'm done with chucking money at it. It's taken my husband a while longer to agree to let it go.

Once that hurdle was over I added details to my listing on the auction website making it very clear that the car did not start. It sold within 7 minutes.

I know what you are thinking but no, the buyer was fully aware the car was a spares or repair job even before I reminded him when he called me to arrange collection and long story short, he's picking it up at the weekend.

As well as the car I listed a branded industrial carpet cleaner. There was lots of interest and soon someone asked if it came with hand tools. I had left the accessories section blank but edited the post to clarify it didn't. Using capital letters.

Cue a series of emails from people asking if it came with the hand tools. Insert eye roll here.

This morning I received an offer for the cleaner which I accepted. Then I got an email from him asking if it came with hand tools.......

One cancelled bid later I'm still selling a branded carpet cleaner WITHOUT HAND TOOLS.
