We had a SPOOKTACULAR (sorry) time at Blenheim Palace's Halloween last year so I am excited to tell you that Halloween at Blenheim Palace is set to return for 2026 with a host of new characters, immersive installations and countless interactive photo moments awaiting visitors during the popular event that runs from 22nd October to 1st November.
This autumn, along the 1.3-kilometre after-dark trail set within the historic grounds of the Oxfordshire UNESCO World Heritage Site, among the biggest new arrivals will be an enormous Spider Puppet, energetic Monster Disco and neon coffin selfie installations.
A spine-chilling spectacle on a monstrous scale, the Blenheim Palace Halloween trail will also feature more than 50 gravestones, at least 40 skeletons, including four giant 12-foot figures, 50 pumpkin lanterns, 24 coffins, over 70 skulls and skull-inspired props, 100 spiders, 100 crows and more.
Revealed as visitors emerge from a 20-metre-long funnel-web tunnel will be the showstopper for 2026, an enormous new Spider Puppet installation. Positioned against a backdrop of glowing webs and illuminated in red light, the creature will slowly stalk approaching Halloween goers before bursting into sudden movement, bringing a dramatic new dimension to the Spider’s Lair in the trail.
The all-new Monster Disco is not to be missed, featuring an upbeat soundtrack and promising a colourful celebration at the end of the trail, giving families the chance to let loose together this Halloween. This energetic and immersive finale encourages visitors to dance their way through a display of lighting and rotating mirror balls suspended above the pathway.
Before the opportunity to break into song and dance, there’s Dracula’s Lair, a theatrical new world of mausoleums, smouldering braziers, gravestones, coffins and rolling mist with Dracula himself waiting in his crypt to warn visitors of the tricks and treats ahead. Four new neon coffin selfie installations will provide an interactive photo opportunity among the mausoleums, allowing visitors to capture their own fang-tastic Halloween portraits. Visitors will also encounter a Vampire Hunter, another larger-than-life character, pursuing the infamous Count through the darkness.
Elsewhere during the experience and back by popular demand will be the ghostly Pirate’s Wreck lost to time, the chilling Catacombs, where the past refuses to stay buried and a mischievous pumpkin-headed scarecrow roaming among the carts, hay bales, lanterns and scarecrows of the Possessed Pumpkin Farm.
Returning to welcome guests as they arrive will be one of Halloween at Blenheim Palace’s firm favourites, the Headless Horseman. In fact, visitors will encounter two mounted horsemen performing among the trees. The dramatic live spectacle will set the tone before visitors have even taken their first steps onto the trail.
Tickets are now on sale for the newly imagined trail where every twist reveals something spooktacular! Blending spooky fun and Halloween magic, the trail offers the choice of daylight sessions, which are ideal for young children who want to experience gentle Halloween magic, as well as twilight or late-night entry times, which promise a spookier and more intense experience for older children and thrill-seekers.
James Dakin, RG Live, Director of Live Experiences, said: “Halloween at Blenheim Palace simply wouldn’t be the same without our hero characters such as the Headless Horseman, but this year will truly be one of a kind as we unveil the first-ever Monster Disco, all-new neon coffins, and the incredible giant Spider Puppet. This one’s not to be missed.”
Dominic Hare, CEO of Blenheim Palace, added: “This event is a huge family favourite, year in, year out, but it’s even bigger and better for 2026 and will be truly memorable. We can’t wait to witness our visitors break into song and dance during the Monster Disco, a new addition to mark the end of the 2026 trail. It really is a fantastic chance to see Britain’s Greatest Palace in a whole new way, with surprises at every turn!”
