Did you "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas?"

My Christmas was not what we had originally planned and on Christmas Eve as I felt myself feeling progressively more ill I was worried that it would be a bit of a pathetic event. We are still in mourning for our friend who passed suddenly and no-one really seemed in a very festive mood.

But despite all that we've ended up having a lovely relaxing time and as this flipping cough/cold/flu thing is finally starting to lose its total grip on our house I think Christmas 2019 will be remembered as the one where we were reminded that it really is all about love, family and friends. Oh and quite a lot of food in our house!

All our children were with us for Christmas which is a rare event and interactions with friends reminded me how lucky I am to live the life I do.

We are looking forward to celebrating on New Year's Eve with friends so we can step forward together into a new decade. It feels a little like stepping off a cliff if I'm honest with Brexit, a funeral and lots of scary unknowns ahead of us but I'm sure there will be lots of happy memories to make too.

New Year's Day is the anniversary of the day I started this blog years ago and my little website has brought me and my family some amazing experiences and an extra income for most of that time.

I'm hoping this 50+ blogger can continue to hold her own in this little corner of the internet during the next decade when there are so many up and coming younger, cooler content creators crowding the space.

Many thanks to you my lovely readers, many of whom have been with me from that first post. I can't do this without you.

From me to you - Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
