Sticking to a Keto diet can take quite some dedication. Adapting it for a vegetarian lifestyle, even on just a few days a week can be even more effort. Don't you sometimes wish you could just order chef-prepared vegetarian keto food to be delivered to your door? Well now you can. (AD)
The Veto Diet (vegetarian Keto - geddit?) is now available exclusively from Love Yourself and can be a great way to kick your body into its fat-burning mode and to manage your weight.
Based on a combination of Keto and Vegetarian, it has been exclusively formulated by their in-house nutritionist to bring you nutritious meals with less than 20g of carbohydrates per day (based on 1700kcal option). The menu has been curated by Love Yourself and the award winning, Chef Director, Michal Snela with different menus created weekly.
The simplest definition of the Veto Diet is: a diet high in fat and very low in carbohydrates. Typically Keto dieters have been very reliant on animal proteins fats. With our Veto diet, the Love Yourself team have turned this around and rely on plant based proteins as the main element of this diet. The only animal proteins they use are from eggs and dairy (no meat of any kind is included in this diet).
Fortunately, you won't be eating sticks of butter and dozens of eggs everyday.
Love Yourself have included plenty of healthy plant-based food products as well as MCT oil. These foods will help you meet your fat, vitamin, mineral, and fibre needs simultaneously, making them a vegetarian keto dieters’ best friend.
Important to mention, that it takes 3-4 days for your body to go into Ketosis before it starts burning fat as its main energy source and they recommend not to eat anything outside the Love Yourself meals until you are very familiar with carbs.

We sampled a few of the dishes on offer including avocado fries with mayo, egg fried "rice", creamy broccoli salad and carrot cake chia pudding. (GIFTED)
I've previously sampled some delicious dishes from the performance diet and as I remarked then, the food does not always look that appealing in the delivery packaging but plating it nicely helps a lot.
I always offer honest opinions and being honest I have to admit here was a mixed response to some of the dishes from my group of taste testers, including one experienced Keto fan.
As an example, we didn't think the egg fried "rice" was really anything like rice but we used the dish to stuff a pepper which did mean our low-carb friend didn't miss out on the side dish we prepared for a med-inspired dinner party.
The avocado fries were also a bit of a disappointment arriving as an almost cake-like block designed to be eaten cold. We cut it the block into "fries" but sadly although the flavour was appreciated by some of my taste testers, the texture didn't satisfy a need for fries. The chef might want to go back to the drawing board or maybe consider renaming the dish.
I liked the chia pudding but I very much like bubble tea with tapioca topping. Others in the group were less keen on the texture which can take some getting used to - worth it though for the many health and nutritional benefits of this versatile ingredient.
