Games 2 Go Tension Review (AD)

My lot love screen based games but they also enjoy good board or card game, especially when we go away. UNO has been a classic go to for years but we've just discovered a very cool and extremely portable game which is brilliant for older kids and adults- Tension, the play anywhere edition which comes in a cool case.

Whether you're traveling, camping, or simply spending a weekend away, having entertaining and engaging games at your disposal can make all the difference (especially during airport or ferry port delays!) the portable Games 2 Go Tension by Cheatwell is a summer essential.

The compact and thrilling card game is designed to keep you entertained and engaged, no matter where your adventures take you.

Games 2 Go Tension is a captivating and competitive game that tests players' ability to think quickly and accurately. Created by Cheatwell Games, renowned for innovative and entertaining game designs, Tension challenges players to name ten examples of a given subject. It's a simple concept, but the pressure of the ticking timer and the need to recall answers under time constraints makes the game incredibly exciting and fast-paced.

The gameplay of Games 2 Go Tension is straightforward, making it accessible to players of all ages. Each round begins with a card being drawn from the deck, which contains a subject, such as "Types of Dogs" or "Countries in Europe." Once the card is revealed, players take turns to name as many examples as they can within the allocated time. The pressure intensifies as the sand timer counts down, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game.

It sounds easy but it's incredible how your mind goes blank with time and peer pressure - go on, have a go at thinking of ten yellow flowers! Or ten things a pirate might say.

The team or person holding the answers marks off each correct answer by pressing down the silicon button next to the answer which lines up as you place the card into the holder. Pressing the buttons is incredibly satisfying - they are much like those sensory popper toys you can buy.

Points are awarded based on the number of correct answers given. You keep track of this with coloured counters - personally I think a pad and pencil is easier as we had to keep looking up the value of the coloured counters. It also works well as a game without scoring, just taking it in turns to try and guess the answers.

If you play properly, the player or team with the most points at the end of the game emerges as the winner. The game is ideal for small groups of friends or family members and can be played virtually anywhere, making it perfect for long car rides, picnics, or lazy afternoons at the beach.

We found younger players (early teens) struggled slightly sometimes and no game is fun if you cant succeed some of the time so we sometimes give clues to help guessers grab some points.

The game comes in a small box that easily fits into a bag or pocket, making it incredibly convenient to carry around. The box contains a wide variety of topics and endless hours of fun. With its compact size, Games 2 Go Tension is the perfect travel companion, ready to inject excitement into any journey or downtime.
