Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. That was my motto when I had seven young children. Days out, family visits, shopping trips I was that parent who had a bag full of snacks and drinks along with the antihistamine, antiseptic cream and spare undies. Over the years it has saved me hundreds of pounds ands and tears.
Hungry and thirsty children are miserable children and I quickly learned that it was worth adding refreshments to my bag to whip out at the first sign of foot dragging. A round of drinks for our family of 9 in a cafe could easily cost £20 plus so it was definitely worth picking up some bits and pieces during your normal supermarket shop.
Take these new Radnor Fruits for example. Available in orange, apple and forest fruits flavour Radnor Fruits is tetra packed in 200ml portions for easy transport and packs currently feature the adorable Disney Character Stitch, beloved by children, teens and adults alike!
Radnor Fruits is a School Approved (in England, Wales and Northern Ireland) range of ambient juice drinks which contain 50% Radnor Hills spring water, 50% real fruit juice and no added sugar.
The drinks got the thumbs up from my family - despite the amount of water the drink still has a good flavour unlike some flavoured waters. We found the drink refreshing and the perfect amount to quench thirst without risking leftovers with little children.
I know my grandson, little B will love them and they are perfect as a healthier choice for my older children. I might have to hide them though otherwise Child 4 (pictured) might slurp them all up before little B gets a look in!
We were a bit dubious initially about the lack of straw but actually the opening is easy to drink out of and you don't have the frustration of trying to poke a fragile paper straw into a pack then realising it will go soggy and collapse and both ends in nanoseconds. If you have issues with drinking without a straw through age or disability, just carry one of the many reusable or recyclable straws available.
The Radnor Fruits Disney Stitch range is packaged in lunch box ready Tetra Pak cartons, made with a pull tab technology which means children can drink straight from the pack. The drinks align with government guidelines of school foods standards and are CQUIN and HFSS compliant as well as being allergen free.
Chris Butler, Marketing Manager of Radnor Hills, which this year celebrates its 35th anniversary, said: “We’ve been keeping children happily hydrated for over 30 years, so it’s very exciting to announce our first collaboration with Disney.
“Disney Lilo & Stitch is a film celebrating the importance of family and community which makes this collaboration extra special as our Radnor Fruits brand is loved by children and parents alike and is all about creating moments of joy.
“The new trio of our best-selling fruit flavours have been a success from the start with retailers and foodservice loving the combination of Radnor Fruits, a trusted family brand, with the fun of a Disney Stitch design.
“We’re seeing branded and licensing products like this really fuelling the growth of the category and parents are looking for products that they can trust and that their kids will enjoy.
“Our Radnor Fruits Disney Lilo & Stitch range is designed for convenience and is perfect for lunchboxes, travel or daily hydration with our 200ml cartons perfect for little hands.”
The new products are now available online in-store across the UK at Morrisons for £1.75 for 3x200ml
