Autumn Days- Love or Hate?

I love summertime. I love not having to put a coat on. I love wearing my sliders and sitting in the garden with friends as the sun sets and I love days out with al fresco meals and ice-creams and the fact that the heating stays firmly off.

But it's most definitely autumn now and apart from the pretty colours in the trees I can't think of much I like about this transitional season.

You never know what to wear. It can be freezing cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. It might rain - who knows? And because it's often mild and damp in my part of the world (UK) there are a variety of nasty diseases doing the rounds until the frost kills off the bugs. Is that an old wives tale? It feels feasible.

The shops don't know what festival they should push most so tinsel jostles with Halloween tat.

Talking about Christmas, I am a fan. I actually don't mind listening to Christmas music in the shops in early November but I can't wait until autumn turns to winter and we have some frosty sunny days or even better, a light sprinkling of snow. I just can't near this damp, misty mess with soggy leaves and mud everywhere.

The only things I appreciate about autumn are stodgy comfort foods, seasonal treats (hello pumpkin spiced everything) and being able to shut the curtains, lounge around in cosy pjs and go to bed early!

Wake me up when Mariah is fully defrosted.
