Never Mind Spring Cleaning - I'm in Full Autumn Cleaning Mode

My family and friends know that when they spot me looking around with a particular glint in my eye they should hide or be sucked into furniture moving and trips to the recycling centre. I think I inherited this gene from my paternal Granny who loved a move around much to the dismay of my mum and aunt who were generally roped into helping.

Recently my house has been in some disarray due to ongoing medical issues which take a lot of time to manage plus the fact one of my children just graduated and we have to find space for the belongings hes accumulated over the past three years. Our conservatory in particular ended up as a bit of a dumping ground but as the weather turns cooler meals with friends which were wonderful al fresco during the summer need to come indoors.

I hosted a bring and share meal recently which prompted a mini clear-up. I moved a low table, and pleased with the result started looking at the whole room.

We are approaching Christmas and if you read my earlier post you'll know my daughter and I have a tradition I love- we visit the Christmas departments of garden centres super early and choose a festive theme. This year we've chosen Victorian Christmas and we plan to carry that theme through the house but focus mostly in the conservatory which doubles as our dining room.

Every year I tell myself I will not get an expensive real tree for the conservatory even though I love how it looks and smells. In previous years I have given in and some people have had to slightly edge round it to get to the table.

After my mini clear up I've decided we need a major tip trip and I want to get rid of a load of things including a large table which has been lurking in the corner of our conservatory after I acquired an even larger table which just about fits the whole family round.

Of course I want it gone RIGHT NOW and had planned to bully ask my family to help get it out today. But a migraine and some (deliberate?) oversleeping means I will have to wait for another day to start my room re-modelling. Unless I can find a saw.....

I have friends who never move their furniture around and wonder why they don't get bored of the layout. What about you? Are you a serial re-arranger or loyal to your layout? Tell me in the comment section below.
