Have a ‘SPOOKTACULARLY TASTY’ Halloween with cakes from Asda

I'm not altogether keen on modern-style Halloween but the children love dressing up, playing games, going out collecting sweets. What I am keen on is food and since October 31 has become a "thing" whether I like it or not, I am very happy to eat party food with my friends and family.

The stores are filled with amazing props and costumes and as more and more people organise parties the range of themed food on offer has increased too.

Take Asda for instance. With a spectacular pedigree in novelty cakes (who could forget the corgi or the unicorn cakes?) they have of course accepted the challenge to make fabulously spooktacular Halloween cakes.

I love the Petrifying Pumpkin Smash Cake (£10.00). It's a tasty chocolate sponge which has been filled and coated with fluffy orange frosting, then topped with an orange-coloured chocolate dome that’s stuffed with spooky surprises. It's not just children who cannot wait to get smashing to reveal the hidden treasure.

Fancy something more ghostly? Check out Asda’s Boo! The Ghost Cake (£5.00). It's covered in a generous layer of soft icing, and this scarily scrumptious madeira sponge is bursting with a fruity jam and tasty vanilla frosting filling.

Wamt to bake your own cakes? There are lots of Halloween themed cupcake ideas on Pinterest and they would all look amazing baked in Asda’s quirky Halloween Cupcake Cases (£1.00). Available in polka dot, and seasonal orange and black, these are the perfect finishing touch.

Asda DIY Halloween traybakeNo time to start from scratch - Asda has the answer with their DIY Graveyard Traybake (£3.50) or Pumpkin Cupcake Kits (£2.00); both make daringly delicious goodies that are spookily easy to prepare.

I am taking one of the Petrifying Pumpkin Smash cakes to my friend's party on Saturday night - I reckon I'll get lots of Brownie points for providing food that is fun and tasty!
